Gearing up for summer!

I've been working on some summer things for Elsie the past few weeks. I couldn't find a RTW* hat small enough for her little head that had a wide enough brim, so I made one. Thanks to Julie for the Sew Baby Hat Shoppe pattern she handed down to me. I combined a couple different ones and widened the brim. I think Elsie likes it. :)

I also tested a knitting pattern for a designer I "know" from a diaper sewing forum. Next up are some capris to go with it -- although the little denim skirt is pretty cute with it, too! (Thanks, Stef!)

* Ray pointed out to me that RTW was, in his words, "crafty geek speak". For future reference, RTW = ready to wear. :)

Ready-to-wear or prêt-à-porter is the fashion design term for clothing marketed in a finished condition, in standard clothing sizes (in casual usage, off the rack or "off-the-peg").

Here are some new pictures of the family.

Owen and I went to the Railroad Museum on Sunday. We really enjoyed looking at all the trains and we even got to take a 20 minute train ride on the train below.

Three Months Old! (and O's 3 year checkup)

Elsie turned three months on Wednesday. She's as happy as ever and is starting to be a lot more interested in the world around her. Look at that double chin!

I got a new carrier this week -- yes, another one -- so we had to test it out. It's a Medley Alpino Design for my fellow BWing geeks. ;) I got a super deal from a co-op.

Owen had his three year checkup on Monday. He put on a little exam gown this time. It was pretty cute! He's 39.25" (83rd percentile) and 36.5 pounds (89th percentile).

One of Ray's co-workers cut down a left-handed 8 iron for Owen this week, so he's been enjoying that.
